Flat Earth Positioning

Flat Earth is a company who has recently come out with a "healthy chip." Even though this sounds like an oxymoron, I am on their side when it comes to their positioning strategies. American food is known for its greasy hamburgers with a side of fries or chips, so if you can't change the taste buds of society, why not just make the product healthier? And this is exactly what Flat Earth has done.

In their commercials they relate the idea of a healthy potato chip to the idea of pigs flying. Of course, like pigs are ever going to fly. Well this may be true but Flat Earth has changed the outlook on junk food by providing America with a chip that has a half serving of veggies in every serving.

Now, a lot of junk food companies would point out the fact that this is just a strategy to get people to by their product with no regret of "this product is bad for me" but that's not the goal of Flat Earth. Any food can be harmful in large quantities, but for reasonable snacking why not get your veggie serving while enjoying a reasonable amount of snack food?
